Property Features
It’s no surprise that Water Mill has a still-active water mill after which it's named – but it also has a lot of other things going for it. In the fall, you’ll find a famous car show, winter brings ice skating on Mecox Bay, but in the summer this hamlet really comes alive. The Cut, a beach destination with little pools formed by varying tides, is popular among families for its shallower splashing pools, while Flying Point beach is a more classic Atlantic spot for all things sandy. Mecox Bay, once thawed, is an ideal spot for fishing, kayaking, and standup paddleboarding on calmer waters. Though Water Mill lacks a more centralized town, its proximity to Southampton and Bridgehampton means that you’ll have plenty of glamorous restaurants and shops nearby. You’ll also find a burgeoning art scene here, with the notable Parish Art Museum and more avant-garde exhibits and performances at Watermill Center. The adorably named Duckwalk Vineyards, one of the earliest vineyards in this wine region, has a tasting room perfect for wiling away summer afternoons.
