This is a truly incredible vacation home in the heart of Captiva Village, yet close to the beach. Though recently built, it has been further upgraded to be exactly perfect. The house sports the “old Florida” style, yet offers smart, modern design and conveniences. And you’ll really appreciate this ideal location: just leave the cars and stroll short distances to everything including shops, restaurants, activities, and of course the beach. The elevator provides easy access from the ground level (with garage) to the main level.
The backyard is a peaceful retreat day or night and is unlike any in Captiva’s village. It features a private heated pool plus an in-ground spa tub, all surrounded by an elegantly furnished sun deck. The spa has a waterfall into the pool; it bubbles and gets warmer (not “hot”) than the pool water when controls are set to spa mode. The serene tropical garden is beautifully illuminated at night and has a delightful path winding through the exotic foliage and flowers.
Porches and Decks. There are many porches and decks at the house. The first you’ll notice upon entering the property is the grand front porch, which spans the entire width of the house. Traditional high-back rocking chairs invite relaxation, while the tropical plantings in the front yard offer some privacy and the impression of a faraway tropical paradise.
The screened lanai in the back adjoins the dining area on the main level and overlooks the private pool and garden. It is roofed in case of a tropical shower and has a broad staircase down to the pool patio. It is accessed through double French doors from the kitchen and dining area. There is a separate set of French doors leading from the master suite.
The two guest suites each have a door opening onto the upper-level rear sundeck. And for the ultimate sunshine location in all seasons, visit the rooftop sundeck. It can be accessed by a spiral staircase from the upper-level rear sundeck. This is a fine location to share the sunset with family and friends (if you aren’t at the beach with everyone else), perhaps with an appetizer and glass of wine.
If it’s hot, you may prefer the sun patio at the pool – jump in the refreshing water to cool off! This area is also elegantly furnished. And if the sunshine is too much you can seek shade under the giant fronds of the surrounding tropical garden.
Special Features and Upgrades-
One of Captiva’s premier luxury homes has some very attractive features! We thought the home offered every possible amenity, but now it is even better. It has a gym area with exercise and game equipment, a state-of-the-art home theatre, and a glass wall opening up onto the pool patio. The home has a huge upgrade for 2016: all new furniture (living and dining rooms), new hardwood floors (carpet removed), all new mattresses, beautifully painted interior, 2nd fridge in the garage, new washer/dryer.
Gym and Games! The home has exercise equipment: an elliptical trainer, an exercise bench, and yoga mats. The game equipment includes a deluxe pool table, foosball, and ping pong. The entire glass wall can slide away to open this area onto the outdoor pool deck.
Home Theatre! The ground-level recreation room features a large screen, in-wall HDTV with home theatre equipment. The stereo and surround sound speakers (including the subwoofer) were professionally installed and aligned. Immerse yourselves in a movie, cheer on your favorite team in the big game, or put on some entertainment while your party enjoys the game and exercise equipment.
The Great Room is a wonderfully open space with a high ceiling and lots of big windows. The fireplace is not available to guests, but in the typical warm Captiva weather, the large HDTV above the mantle will be of greater appeal. A staircase leads to a balcony and two upper-level Bedrooms.
Naturally, the gourmet kitchen is both modern and convenient. It has a breakfast bar (also serves as a gallery for chef spectators). The main dining table has six comfortable chairs. Adjoining the kitchen is a small but functional laundry room. As you might expect for such an elegant house, there are lights everywhere you could need them – with excellent controls (most on dimmers) to set the perfect mood for dining or entertaining, working or playing.
