Firstly, let me remind you that Little Gasparilla is accessed by boat or water taxi which can be reserved by the staff. Leaving the mainland behind, you'll park your vehicle at the marina and embark on a boat ride that will transport you to a world untouched by commercialization. This island, with its absence of stores, bars, and restaurants, has managed to preserve its "old Florida" ambiance and pristine beauty. It's a place where locals used to come for weekends of fishing, beach adventures, and cherished moments of tranquility. Even though the island has been discovered by some, its lack of commercial establishments continues to attract those seeking respite from crowds, tourists, traffic, and technology. And if you're eager to explore the island, there might be a chance to rent a golf cart, subject to availability.
As I step onto the cottage porch I am lead into this lovely -bedroom, 2-bath cottage, Greeted by a stunning view just steps away from the dock. Here, I can easily access the water taxi or a rental boat, ensuring convenient transportation. The front porch, adorned with comfortable chaise lounges and an outdoor dining table, becomes my sanctuary for witnessing breathtaking sunsets and savoring al fresco meals.
The spacious open-plan kitchen and living area welcome me with open arms. The cottage's layout allows everyone to find their own space and unwind at their own pace. A large bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a small en-suite bath off the master bedroom provide the utmost comfort. The well-equipped kitchen boasts all the necessary utensils, pots and pans, and pantry items, enabling me to prepare delightful meals at my leisure.
Venturing downstairs, I discover a cozy open-air deck that beckons me with its additional dining table, comfortable seating, and a delightful hammock swaying in the bay breezes. It's the perfect spot to immerse myself in the island's ambiance and appreciate the soothing surroundings. And for evenings filled with warmth and camaraderie, a fire pit awaits, ready to create memorable moments around bonfires, s'mores, and hot dog roasting.
Allow me to share some important house details with you. While wifi is not available however you can use you mobile hotspots. The cell service is excellent, making it the most convenient option. And if you're traveling with furry friends, pets are permitted with an additional pet fee.
At dock slip number 33, I'm delighted to find my own boat slip, included with the rental. This is also where the water taxi drops you off, ensuring effortless arrival and departure. And to make my stay even more convenient, a complimentary concierge service awaits at the dock, ready to assist with transporting luggage and groceries to the house upon arrival.
